If you're planning your dream renovation and want to avoid budget blowouts, timeline overruns, and shoddy or half-finished work, the company you choose matters. We manage the whole project ourselves, so you're working directly with owners Riki and Danielle Durrant — not passed off to a project manager you've never met.
With 20+ years of building experience and a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) qualification, Riki has his hands on every project from beginning to end, built to New Zealand Building Code standard. He's also capable of surveying a site and drawing up plans himself, and does his own quantity surveying — a sharper eye for layout, and more accurate costing passed on to you.

Our subcontractors. A build is only as good as the trades behind it. Over the years we've built relationships with the best plumbers, electricians, and specialist trades in Whangamatā, the same proven people on every job, not whoever's available that week. That consistency is a big part of why our finished work holds up.
Cladding is one we get a lot of. Old or failing cladding is one of the most common reasons Coromandel homes need work — coastal conditions are hard on a building envelope. Cladding and reclad work falls under Building Code Clause E2 (External Moisture) and is restricted building work, meaning it has to be carried out by a Licensed Building Practitioner. We handle reclads from assessment through to a weathertight, code-compliant finish.

FAQ
Do I need council consent for my project?
Most structural renovations, plumbing and electrical work need a building consent under the Building Act 2004. Some minor work qualifies for an exemption under Schedule 1. We handle the consent process as part of the job so you don't have to deal with council directly.
How long does a typical renovation take?
Depends on scope — a bathroom might be 3–4 weeks, a full home renovation can run several months. We give you a realistic timeline upfront and stick to it.
Do you manage the whole job, or do I need to coordinate trades myself?
We manage everything — trades, materials, inspections, timeline. You deal with Riki and Danielle directly, start to finish.
Do you build decks, pergolas and retaining walls too?
Yes — these often go hand in hand with a renovation, and we handle them as part of the same project or as standalone jobs.
Do you work on older homes with weathertightness issues?
Yes — leaky home repair, recladding and weathertightness remediation is something we take on. Get in touch to talk through your specific situation.
How do I know if my cladding needs replacing?
Signs to look for include cracking, staining, soft spots, or musty smells inside near external walls. If you're not sure, we can come take a look and give you a straight answer.
